RCRA & DOT Training
Do You Need to Take the DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Course? In compliance with U.S. DOT regulations (49 CFR 172.704 Subpart H) also known as HM -181, this U.S. Department of Transportation ( DOT) training is for individuals who handle, manage, transport, or ship hazardous materials/hazardous waste. This training must be performed every 3 years and is a must for anyone preparing or signing a Hazardous Waste Manifest. RCRA Training Requirements require that hazardous waste personnel at large quantity generator (LQG's) facilities must complete a program of annual RCRA refresher training (40 CFR 262.17(a)(7)). For small quantity generators (SQGs), EPA requires that all hazardous waste personnel are "thoroughly familiar" with the RCRA regulations.
